Primary tabs
Expert in integrated assessment of air pollution using meteorological and air quality data, emission inventories and projections, dispersion modelling, geographic information systems, with 20 years of experience in this field. In 2003 I joined Arianet s..r.l - Milan, where I worked on the impact assessment of new highways and urban road traffic on atmosphere. In 2009 I joined ENEA with a permanent position. In 2021 I took the heading of the Atmospheric Pollution Laboratory.
I work on the integrated assessment of air pollution and the effects on human health, with modelling tools. I am a part of the team managing the National Quality Model Air MINNI, in support to the Ministry of Environment for air quality policies at international (CLRTAP, Gothenburg Protocol) and European (Directive 2008/50/EU, 2016/84/EU) and Italian (Legislative Decrees no 155/2010 and 81/2018) level. I represent Italy of the Forum for air quality modelling in Europe - FAIRMODE and in the CLRTAP task force TFIAM. I have assessed the effects of air pollution on human health, with epidemiological risk assessment approach for quantification of mortality and the onset of disease on the Italian territory. I have experience in projects for industrial customers (ENEL, ILVA) for the self-assessment of the impact on air quality and health and in international cooperation projects for capacity building in the environmental field (Lebanon, with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
I am first author of 9 and co-author of 54 Scopus-indexed articles on international peer-reviewed journals and conference papers.
