Roberto Iacono holds a degree in Physics from the University of Naples and a PhD in Plasma Physics from the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL). He joined ENEA in 1994, to work in a task force for the numerical modeling of atmosphere and ocean dynamics. Current research activities mostly focus on oceanography, ranging from process studies based on simplified dynamical models to the development and use of state of the art operational models of the circulation. He is author of more than 50 peer reviewed papers on international journals, numerous contributions to conference proceedings, and several book chapters.
