Gianmaria Sannino is a climatologist with a PhD in Marine Science and Engineering from the University Federico II of Naples. He currently holds the position of Director at the ENEA Division 'Models and technologies for the reduction of anthropogenic impacts and natural hazards'. His research focuses on climate change, air pollution, and risk prevention.
Sannino has authored/co-authored numerous publications in international journals and has collaborated with renowned institutions worldwide. He has actively participated in national and international research projects, examining climate change impacts and marine energy production. Sannino has also contributed to the evaluation of scientific research for prestigious organizations, including the European Commission and the National Agency for the Evaluation of the University System and Research.
In addition to his research work, Sannino serves as a member of the Scientific Committee of the European Joint Programme "Marine Renewable Energy" and represents Italy in the Implementation Working Group 'Ocean Energy' of the SET-Plan. He is also involved in various scientific committees and initiatives related to climate research and marine observations.
