Alessandro Dell’Aquila, PhD in Geophysics, is a Permanent ENEA Researcher since 2009 (previously temporary staff researcher with similar duties). In charge of analysis and validation of the regional climate model employed at ENEA for the Euro-Mediterranean area. Current research interests are focused on the assessment of uncertainty of state-of–the-art climate models in reproducing climate processes at both global and local scales. Particular attention is also paid in providing climate information tailored on the end-users needs in the energy, tourism, agriculture sectors. He has participated to several EU projects: SPECS, EUPORIAS (as ENEA PI and WP leader in the vulnerability assessment framework workpackage), CLIM-RUN, IMPACT2C, CIRCE, AMMA, SINGULAR and PERSEUS EU projects mainly in the WP on climate modelling activity and analysis. Currently member of the overall Coordination team of MED-GOLD H2020 project led by ENEA and involved in H2020 S2S4E SOCLIMPACT and CRESCENDO projects. At national level involved in the NEXTDATA project and in the COPERNICUS National User Forum. Involved in the coordinated modelling experiment for the Euro-Mediterranean region Med-CORDEX (ENEA Contact point), in the European Climate Research Alliance (ECRA) and in European Climate Service Partnership (ECSP) initiatives. Author of more than 30 peer reviewed papers (up to 2018), and more than 40 international conference contributions. H-index Scopus 2018: 18. Convener of scientific session about “Climate services – Underpinning science” at EGU (European Geoscience Union) annual General Assembly and co-convener of the scientific session about “Dynamical Meteorology” at EMS (European Meteorological Society) annual General Assembly. Member of WMO Joint CBS/CCl Expert Team on Operational Predictions from Sub-seasonal to Longer-time Scales (ET-OPSLS).
